Job description

We are seeking a Geriatrics, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine Physician for locum coverage within a nursing home program in Massachusetts. This role focuses on post-acute rehabilitation and long-term care management in a collaborative care environment.

Assignment Details:

  • ASAP start
  • 3 6 month assignment
  • Full-time coverage preferred (open to shared FTE coverage)

Schedule:

  • Monday Friday
  • 9:00 AM 5:00 PM
  • No call

Practice Setting:

  • Nursing home / rehabilitation facilities
  • Multiple facility coverage within one health system
  • EMR: Epic + PointClickCare

Patient Population:

  • Short-term rehabilitation
  • Long-term care residents

Patient Volume:

  • 6 8 patients/day
  • Includes new admissions and follow-up visits

Care Model:

  • Onsite NP support at each facility
  • NPs manage calls, medication refills, and orders
  • Physicians perform admission and follow-up visits
  • Long-term care follow-up every days unless acute issues arise

Requirements:

  • Active Massachusetts medical license
  • Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration
  • Flu vaccine required
  • COVID primary vaccination series required

Additional Notes:

  • Epic and coding training required prior to start
  • Collaborative nursing home care environment
