About the Opportunity

FocusPoint is partnering with a leading healthcare organization to identify a Coding Quality Review Specialist who will play a critical role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and excellence in medical coding practices. This position is ideal for professionals who thrive on detail, uphold integrity in documentation, and are motivated by improving patient care through precise coding standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of coded medical records to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to regulatory guidelines.
  • Identify coding errors, trends, and opportunities for improvement, providing actionable feedback to coding teams.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff, coding professionals, and compliance officers to resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and payer-specific requirements.
  • Support ongoing education and training initiatives to elevate coding quality across the organization.
  • Prepare detailed reports and summaries of audit findings for leadership review.

Qualifications

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent credential required.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in medical coding and quality review, preferably in a hospital or large physician practice setting.
  • Strong knowledge of coding guidelines, compliance regulations, and healthcare reimbursement methodologies.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to communicate findings clearly.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software.
