Hours: 7:00 - 9:30 a.m.
Description:
St. Therese Early Education Center (EEC) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our team. Our EEC provides care for children 6 weeks - 5 years old. Our year-round program serves students from 7:00 am - 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The teacher assistant position will work 7:00 a.m.-9:30 a.m., 3-5 days a week. An ideal candidate for this position has a strong background in early childhood education as well as a genuine love for working with young children. As an Early Childhood Teacher, you are responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the social, emotional, and cognitive development of our students, while also modeling our Catholic and Christian faith. Your creativity and enthusiasm will help shape the educational experiences of our young learners.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the lead teacher in creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
  • Help implement lessons that are developmentally appropriate, hands on and engaging
  • Use a variety of methods to assess and monitor students' progress.
  • Monitor rest time, outside play and afternoon snack
  • Collaborate with other educators and staff to create a cohesive educational experience for all students. Instill a love for Christ, and weave Catholic teachings into daily activities.
  • Knowledge and ability to change diapers and help with potty training.

Requirements
  • Experience working with young children in a preschool setting
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Familiarity with the Catholic understanding of ministry is an asset.
  • This position requires standing on multiple floor surfaces, sitting on the floor, and lifting. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted on a daily basis
