Position Description:

We are seeking a fulltime HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic - Journeyman to support commercial mechanical construction projects. This role is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, installation, and repair of HVAC sheet metal systems and components, working in coordination with foremen, project managers, and other trades to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to specification.

The ideal candidate has handson commercial HVAC sheet metal experience and the ability to work independently while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair HVAC sheet metal ductwork and related components, including ducts, drain pans, control boxes, and equipment casings
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, contract documents, and shop drawings
  • Install duct systems in accordance with SMACNA standards, company guidelines, and mechanical codes
  • Assist foremen with layout, material staging, and jobsite coordination
  • Perform accurate field measurements and layout prior to installation
  • Seal, insulate, and support duct systems to ensure proper airflow and energy efficiency
  • Coordinate with pipefitters, electricians, and other trades to support project schedules
  • Inspect work for quality and compliance with drawings and specifications
  • Maintain tools and equipment in a safe and operational condition
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements
  • Participate in jobsite safety meetings and maintain a clean work environment

Education, Training, Licenses, and Certifications:

  • Journeymanlevel experience in HVAC sheet metal installation on commercial construction projects
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and follow detailed installation instructions
  • Completion of a sheet metal apprenticeship program preferred
  • Journeyman HVAC or Sheet Metal certification preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with ATU, RTU, split systems, and commercial duct applications
  • OSHA 10Hour preferred (OSHA 30Hour a plus)
  • Must have reliable transportation and ability to work fulltime with overtime as required
