Coding Club - After School Program- October- November & February-March
Kankakee Valley Intermediate School is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Coding Club Supervisor to lead our after-school Coding Club
Job Description: Two (2) sessions per year- The purpose of the Coding Club is to empower students with an introduction to programming. Students will understand the basics of solving puzzles with computer programs and coding using online programs like code.org, scratch.mit.edu, and codecademy.com. Students will increase their attention to detail and learn to categorize problems, which is a basic skill of computer programming. The Coding Club supervisor will be responsible for selecting students, communicating expectations to both students and parents, and providing meaningful weekly activities. Each session consists of up to 35 students. Students practice once a week for 6 weeks.
Qualifications:
  • Experience working with school-aged students
  • Strong interest in STEM, robotics, coding, and engineering concepts
  • Ability to foster teamwork and encourage student growth
  • Teaching license preferred but not required
