Job description

Job Summary: 
Assembles, wires, commissions, installs and services control panels and automated machinery in accordance with customer requirements and external (CSA, ESA, OSHA, etc.), company and department standards and policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include becoming competent in the following: other duties may be assigned. 
   Required to work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company Health and Safety and Other Policies 
   Responsible for mentoring (including feedback on skills and behavior), and providing guidance on safe work practices for electrical apprentices 
   Assemble and mount control panels and other electrical components 
   Wire control panels and automated machinery in accordance with customer requirements and external (CSA, ESA, OSHA, etc), company and department standards and policies 
   Provide in-house electrical troubleshooting and service 
   Keep inventory control and usage of electrical components 
   Maintain red line electrical drawings for changes made during wiring and debugging 
   All above duties to be performed in a timely manner and in an ISO 2015 environment

Position Requirements: (Knowledge, Skill, Ability) 
   Must have practical experience in wiring panels and automated machinery 
   Must understand the Ontario Electrical Code 
   Must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret written and verbal communications in the English language 
   Must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret electrical schematic drawings 
   Must have good electrical troubleshooting skills 
   Must be able to work with others in a fast-paced environment 
   Must have a valid driver's license

Autonomy and Authority 
   Receives instructions on specific assignments 
   Expected to work independently to complete wiring of individual panels or machines according to electrical drawings and established standards 
   Complex circuits or requirements referred to higher authority for guidance and review 
   May give guidance to Apprentices with respect to the work being performed

Education, Experience, and Qualifications: 
   Licensed electrician as recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Training 
   Must have a valid passport and driver's license, as well as the ability to travel to customer sites both locally and internationally            
   Must be available to travel for periods of up to 3 weeks

Special Requirements (physical demands and work environment): 
Must be physically able to wire panels and automated machinery from standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching and prone positions. 
Must be able to work in all types of manufacturing environments (oil, dust, etc.). May need to lift and/or move heavy weight. 

The expected compensation range for this position is $29.63 - $40.74 per hour. This range includes base pay and target variable pay. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience. We also consider internal equity to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. This range reflects the expected full compensation range for the role; most offers will fall within the range and not at the maximum in order to allow for future growth.
