Job description

The Afterschool Care Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the safe arrival, supervision, and engagement of students enrolled in Code Ninjas’ afterschool pickup and care program. This role ensures a positive, structured, and fun environment where children feel supported while participating in STEM activities, homework time, and the Code Ninjas curriculum.
Key Responsibilities

1. Student Supervision & Safety
  • Supervise children ages 5–14 in a safe, nurturing, and structured environment.
  • Ensure all safety protocols and Code Ninjas standards are consistently followed.
  • Maintain accurate daily attendance records and parent sign-in/out tracking.
  • Monitor student behavior and implement positive reinforcement strategies.

2. Afterschool Pickup & Transportation Coordination
  • Assist with daily school pickups (if applicable based on scheduling).
  • Ensure all pickup lists, permissions, and transportation logs are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Safely escort students into the center and ensure proper transition into Code Ninjas programs.

3. Program Support & Engagement
  • Support Senseis (instructors) with classroom transitions and activity setup.
  • Engage with ninjas during structured learning, play breaks, homework time, and STEM activities.
  • Participate in Code Ninjas curriculum activities as needed.
  • Help maintain a fun, positive, and inclusive environment.

4. Communication & Customer Service
  • Greet families warmly during pickup and provide daily updates as needed.
  • Communicate any student concerns, incidents, or behavior issues to the Center Director promptly.
  • Build strong relationships with parents and ninjas to promote retention and program satisfaction.

5. Center Operations Support
  • Assist with snack distribution, cleanliness, and maintaining an organized workspace.
  • Help prepare materials, set up learning areas, and support special events or workshops.
  • Follow all closing procedures when scheduled for evening shifts.
