Construction Inspector- Mechanical
***Work Location: Nashville, TN ***
Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Provides construction inspection and quality assurance services on multiple or complex mechanical systems projects at an international airport facility.
  • Conducts on-site inspections of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems to ensure compliance with approved construction documents, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Reviews contractor’s work, inspects delivered materials, and verifies certifications.
  • Ensures compliance with approved construction documents, specifications and contract requirements.
  • Records daily observations and reports any noncompliance issues.
  • Coordinates and verifies field testing of mechanical systems and materials.
  • Reviews and approves pay applications related to mechanical work.
  • Reviews contractor’s quality control and safety manuals and procedures.
  • Ensures contractor adherence to safety standards and conducts daily safety inspections.
  • Reviews contractor submittals for constructability and compliance with project specifications.
  • Provides technical guidance on mechanical system installations, including HVAC, piping, and equipment.
  • Monitors contractor performance and compliance with mechanical system standards and building codes.
  • Reviews contractor submittals for constructability and compliance.
Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma is required or GED
  • Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of construction inspection experience, focused on HVAC and mechanical systems
  • Experience with mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and equipment installations.
  • Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and mechanical system testing procedures.
  • Certifications in mechanical or HVAC systems preferred.
