QE2 - Automation Quality Engineer II

Job Description:

Software integration testing and test automation

Analyzing test failures

Designing and automating new tests

Escalate and report key quality issues and drive issues to resolution

Regular interaction with teams located in different geographical regions

Enhancing and maintaining automated tests that validate code and ML model

Maintaining Test Automation CI/CD pipelines

Possess excellent written and verbal communications skills in English

Requirements for the role:

Minimum Requirements:

5+ years of professional work experience as a Software Development Engineer or Software Quality Engineer

Expert programming skills in at least one of the following: Python, Swift, Java

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Preferable: Familiar with Teamcity CI/CD pipelines and using Kotlin to create/modify the Teamcity pipelines)

Ability to independently drive tasks/projects

Ideal Requirements:

Able to write shell scripts and familiar with XCode and able to build or modify existing iOS Application Code

Test automation experience (XCTest a plus)

Familiar with Apple OS platforms, debugging or profiling tools

Proven ability to analysis and find root causes in multi-tiered, client-server environments

Testing server backend services at the API or protocol level

Working understanding of test types and their purpose (unit, integration, end-to-end).

Familiar with different logging and analytics concepts

Basic Unix admin skills

Any background in server-side automation is a plus

Experience with git and any source code solutions

Familiarity with any of these technologies/systems is a plus: Solr, Kafka, Redis, Splunk, PostGres DB, AWS S3, Docker, WireFrame UI design a plus

Any familiarity with ML systems, how to test ML models is a plus

Possess excellent written and verbal communications skills in English

Able to work in a fast paced dynamic environment

Curious and proactive. Loves to learn and explore.

Excellent trouble-shooting and debugging skills

Previous experience working with Virtual Assistants is a plus

Education: BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent

This role is required to sit on-site in the client's Cupertino Campus due to the nature and secrecy of the work.

This team is primarily responsible for making Siri the best worldwide digital assistant. They engineer Siri and other cloud based services for international markets. Teaching Siri how to understand and speak new languages is the main goal of this team, together with designing and implementing a highly locally customized experience for Siri Users.

As a X code developer OR Software Development Engineer in Test, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, design and develop innovative consumer products. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.

As a X code developer OR Software Development Engineer in Test, you will develop, execute and maintain software to test the product. You are expected to have industry-leading technical abilities that enable you to significantly improve product quality. You should have a combination of solid in-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance, as well as knowledge of object oriented design principles. The test software you will build should expose defects in production level code as well as defects at the component and feature integration perspective. You should command the skill to communicate clearly and effectively.

A candidate will need to define automation strategy, automation cases as well as design tools for unit, functional, and performance testing in a programmatic manner. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to propose improvements to our existing processes and automated tools in order to improve the team’s speed, quality and efficiency.

As a X code developer OR Software Development Engineer in Test, you will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of technologies from front-end UI to back-end distributed web services.

This is a Contract position based out of Cupertino, CA.

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
