Position Description: Circuit Breaker Test Assemblerย 

The Circuit Breaker Test Assembler is responsible for configuring, testing, and maintaining electrical breaker systems to ensure safe and reliable operation of power distribution networks. This role supports engineering, maintenance, and operations teams by ensuring all circuit breakers are properly calibrated, documented, and compliant with safety standards.ย 

Requirements

Primary Duties:ย 

  • Configure and set up circuit breakers according to engineering specifications and operational requirementsย 
  • Perform calibration and adjustment of breaker protection settings (trip curves, overload protection, fault settings, etc.)ย 
  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentationย 
  • Conduct testing and verification of breaker performance and functionalityย 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve configuration or operational issues in breaker systemsย 
  • Maintain accurate records of configurations, test results, and system changesย 
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations (e.g., NEC, OSHA, IEEE)ย 
  • Support installation, maintenance, and commissioning of electrical distribution systemsย 
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and project managers on system upgrades and improvementsย 
  • Assist in root cause analysis for breaker failures or electrical incidentsย 

Experience & Skills:ย 

  • High school diploma or GED (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred)ย 
  • 2+ years of experience working with electrical systems, circuit breakers, or power distribution equipmentย 
  • Strong understanding of electrical principles and protection systemsย 
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and blueprintsย 
  • Experience with breaker configuration tools, relay settings, or control systemsย 
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and electrical codesย
