Job description

Kolaboration Ventures Corporation proudly provides administrative, managerial, and financial services to a growing collection of cannabis companies in Northern California.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic HR Coordinator to be responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, workers compensation, onboarding, HRIS, training, recruitment, safety, and other duties as needed. The emphasis for this role will rest heavily in recruitment, onboarding, and auditing various employee data for compliance.

The primary worksite for this position is Concord, California. However, based on business needs, the position offers some flexibility in worksite location, including assignments at the Antioch worksite.

The anticipated schedule for this position is 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM Monday - Friday.

Pay Rate: $23 - $27/hour Depending on Experience

Responsibilities

  • Onboard new employees which include sending offer letters via DocuSign, completing I-9 verification, creating employee ID badges, facilitating background checks, and scheduling Live Scans with local police department.

  • Maintain and post jobs using our ATS.

  • Review applications for open positions.

  • Conduct initial phone screens for qualified applicants.

  • Coordinate with hiring managers to facilitate the interviewing process for applicants.

  • Maintain human resource information system records in HR/ Payroll database.

  • Assist the HR team with the administration of benefits enrollment requests, leave of absence requests, and workers compensation claims.

  • Review incoming mail and coordinate timely responses.

  • Coordinate with managers to respond to and resolve a variety of employee inquiries.

  • Carry out various complex administrative tasks on a deadline with attention to detail, and high degree of confidentiality.

  • Assist with documentation, file organization, database maintenance and other administrative duties.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing administrative duties.

  • Frequent use of a computer, keyboard, and telephone.

  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds.

  • Ability to move throughout the office and access various work areas as needed.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and in writing.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred.

  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered.

  • 1-2 years of HR Coordinator experience preferred.

Competencies:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English across multiple contexts in various formats.

  • Bilingual in Spanish highly desirable but not required.

  • Ability to work independently with little supervision required.

  • Ability to remain calm while working under pressure in a busy environment.

  • Ability to work within the timeframe of standard policies and procedures.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality related to sensitive company and employee information.

  • General familiarity with HR principles and federal/local regulations.

  • Excellent ability to multi-task and prioritize in a busy, fast-growth environment

Software and Technical Skills:

  • Must be 21 years of age.

  • Professional, tidy appearance and good personal hygiene .

  • Selected candidate will be required to complete a post offer, pre-employment background check.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States.
