Regular Hours: 5:00am - 5:30pm - 12 Hour Rotating Schedule
Orientation and first week schedule: Tuesday (Orientation) - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
Job Summary
The Warehouse Operational Technician for the recycling and pallet yard is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all activities related to the handling, processing, and distribution of recyclable materials and pallets. This role ensures that all tasks are performed in compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
Job Responsibilities
  • Material Handling: Receive, inspect, and sort incoming recyclable materials and pallets. Operate forklifts, conveyor systems, and other machinery for material handling. Organize materials and pallets within the yard for efficient storage and retrieval.
  • Quality Control: Inspect materials and pallets for quality, damage, and contamination. Segregate materials that do not meet quality standards and initiate corrective actions.
  • Recycling Process: Operate equipment (e.g., balers, compactors) to process recyclable materials. Ensure that recycling processes are carried out efficiently and safely. Assist in maintaining equipment and performing basic maintenance tasks, e.g., oil, lubrication, hydraulics, etc.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and transactions.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines for handling materials and equipment. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Customer Service: Assist customers with material drop-offs and pick-ups. Address inquiries and provide information about recycling and pallet yard services.
  • Documentation: Complete required paperwork, including shipping and receiving documents. Keep detailed records of recycling and pallet processing activities.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with other warehouse personnel to achieve operational goals. Provide support during peak periods or as needed.

Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of one year of work experience is required.
  • Prior experience in machine operation in a production or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a high-speed industrial environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of industrial technology is preferred.
  • Prior experience using pallet jack or forklift preferred. Ability to obtain certification upon hire is required.
  • Basic math skills, mechanical aptitude, and reading comprehension strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of TPM (Total Preventative Maintenance) processes, including 5S, Root-Cause Analysis, and continuous improvement practices preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Acute Vision: Constantly (observing both near and far, reading documents, monitors)
  • Mobility: Frequent travel around the equipment they operate.
  • Bending/Squatting: Occasional bending and squatting to clean and operate machinery.
