Join Beacon’s Oncology Program as a full‑time Breast Surgeon and make a lasting impact in our community.

Beacon Medical Group is seeking a full‑time BC/BE Breast Surgeon to join our growing practices in South Bend and Elkhart, Indiana. Our position provides an opportunity to contribute to clinical program development and provide clinical care to women across our communities.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of post‑training clinical experience in breast surgery
  • Fellowship training in Breast Surgery
  • Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery or equivalent with fellowship training in Breast Surgical Oncology
  • BC/BE in General Surgery
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary model, collaborating with medical oncology, radiation oncology, plastic surgery, and radiology
  • Leadership experience or interest in taking on programmatic or clinical leadership responsibilities
  • Excellent surgical skills and a strong commitment to patient safety and satisfaction
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team‑based healthcare environment
  • Compassionate, empathic, and a patient‑centered approach to care
Work Schedule
  • One clinic day and one OR day in South Bend
  • One clinic day and one OR day in Elkhart
  • One day of community outreach and/or administrative work

About the Practice

You will join Beacon Medical Group under the General Surgery Department where you will work with a dynamic group of general surgeons, who currently perform all of our breast surgeries. Our group of surgeons is collegial and committed to providing high quality breast cancer care to the community. Your call will be specific to breast surgery, and you will not be responsible for general surgery call. There is currently no other fellowship trained breast surgeons in our practice.

You will join a dedicated and collegial team comprised of Nurse Navigators, Genetic Counselors, on‑site Medical Oncologists, on‑site Radiation Oncologists, and three dedicated Breast Radiologists. Our dedicated Nurse Navigators provide patients the support and assistance they need to maneuver through their cancer journey. You will also be supported through a collaborative agreement with local plastic surgeons.

Our practice highlights include the Memorial Regional Breast Cancer Center, Certified Quality Breast Center of Excellence at Elkhart General Hospital, and ACR accredited mammography screening facilities. Memorial Hospital of South Bend and Elkhart General Hospital are COC accredited and currently working towards NAPBC accreditation.
