Job description

POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY:

 Coordinate and organize NAPBC/cancer conferences and cancer committee meetings. Create reports to meet the yearly NAPBC & COC standards and any reports needed by administration regarding our accreditation standards.  Assure the NAPBC & COC committee is meeting the cancer program standards. Coordinate all day-to-day registry activities related to breast cancer; develop and maintain quality control for the NAPBC & COC program.  We currently have 3 accreditations that would be surveyed once every 3 years.  Survey preparation is expected throughout each year. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of patient care methodology, including data collections, interpretation, and display techniques. Performs lead responsibility for cancer registry, assisting with training, performance review, and coordination of all day to day registry activities
  • Eligible for, or certification as, a Registered Health Information Administrator, Registered Health Information Technician preferred
  • Makes decisions independently 
  • Must be skilled in personal computer applications including graphic display throughout all functions of the cancer registry
  • Works independently
