Location: Hybrid – Downey, CA

Work Schedule: Hybrid, Multiple Shifts – Day, Swing, Overnight, and Weekend Coverage as Needed

Position Summary

The IT Production Support Assistant supports enterprise production applications and operational workflows across IBM mainframe and midrange computing environments. This position works under the direction of team leadership to execute and monitor scheduled production jobs, troubleshoot production issues, support application migrations using Endevor, manage operational incident tickets, and assist with data center production activities in a 24/7 operational environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support production applications running within IBM mainframe and midrange environments
  • Create, submit, monitor, hold, cancel, and troubleshoot production jobs using Control-M
  • Support mainframe COBOL applications and move application packages and source elements using Endevor
  • Assist with movement of JCL, PROCS, and control statements into designated Endevor libraries
  • Monitor production processing activities and resolve operational issues according to established procedures
  • Manage and document incident tickets using service management and tracking applications
  • Coordinate operation of consoles, input/output devices, and scheduled production workflows
  • Support high-volume print operations using commercial high-speed printing equipment
  • Participate in team presentations, procedural documentation updates, and knowledge-sharing activities
  • Maintain compliance with operational standards and production control procedures
  • Support shift-based production activities within a 24/7/365 operational support environment


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of experience within the last five years supporting IBM mainframe operations and production control environments
  • Experience using Control-M for job ordering, monitoring, holding, cancelling, and scheduling activities
  • Minimum two years of experience within the last five years working in a data center or production support environment
  • Experience managing incident tickets using tracking or service management software applications
  • Minimum two years of experience within the last five years using Endevor to move application programs and source elements
  • Experience supporting JCL, PROCS, and control statement management processes
  • Minimum one year of experience operating commercial high-speed printing equipment
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent


Preferred Qualifications
