To thrive in Cobol Consulting, strong expertise in Cobol programming, legacy system maintenance, and a solid background in information technology or computer science are vital. Familiarity with mainframe environments, source control tools, and certifications such as IBM System z or similar credentials are commonly required. These skills enable consultants to bridge the gap between legacy systems and modern business needs, ensuring efficient and reliable solutions for clients.
