Job description

Job Overview:

Responsibilities:

  • Splice taps, actives, and nodes to specifications. Inside and outside plant.
  • Prep, dress, and store coax cabling to specifications and assemble equipment according to design specifications
  • Perform live cut-overs during maintenance hours
  • Ability to troubleshoot damaged coax cable effectively and efficiently
  • Proficient in using coax tools and test equipment including Viavi meter and OTDR.
  • Ability to read, understand and update splice documentation and maps as required
  • Perform other duties as required

Skills and Qualifications Required:

  • 1-3 years of coax splicing and testing.
  • Organized, with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment & communicate professionally with co-workers and customers
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Requires a mixture of day and night work.
  • Must have a Valid driver's license
  • Be available for 7 day / 24-hour stand by on-call rotation as needed
  • Ability and willingness to work long and unpredictable hours if required, including work after normal business hours in the event physical restoration of fiber plant is needed
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders and operate a bucket truck is needed
  • Willingness to operate within a schedule that is subject to inclement weather conditions

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
