Job description

Job Purpose:
- The Coatings Mechanic at BLAKLEY CORP is responsible for the application and maintenance of high-quality epoxy coatings and polished concrete surfaces. This role requires a skilled professional with a minimum of three years of experience in the coatings industry, ensuring that all projects meet the company's standards for durability and aesthetic appeal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply epoxy coatings to various surfaces, ensuring a smooth and even finish that meets industry standards.
- Polish concrete surfaces to achieve desired texture and shine, maintaining consistency across projects.
- Inspect surfaces before and after application to ensure quality control and adherence to specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to plan and execute coating projects efficiently.
- Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition, performing routine checks and necessary repairs.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Document work processes and outcomes for reference and reporting purposes.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in coating technologies to enhance service offerings.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in applying epoxy coatings
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in polishing concrete
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in a coatings role within a construction or industrial setting
- Familiarity with various types of coating materials and their applications
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in the use of tools and equipment related to coatings application
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and supervisors
