Job description

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the coating operator learns to set up and operate the Glue and Inspection area. Learns to check operation of Glue room and Coating Head to assure material is produced within specification at the target speed. Performs material handling operations to support the Glue Room.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Operates glue pouring system in application of applying adhesive or chemical to roll stock.

* Check application for surface defects, proper coverage and, inventory for current run.

* Ability to obtain Hilo requirements to operate a standup Hilo in a production environment safely.

* Set-up/adjust and actively monitor/fill adhesive reservoir on the coater.

* Actively involved in the cleanup and setup of the coater during job changes including all assigned equipment.

* Develop understanding of the adhesive coating process, products, and raw materials to effectively troubleshoot production and quality issues.

* Develop an understanding of basic quality issues for the product and communicate with the Operator; to adjust the coater to address quality issues into specification.

* Requires heavy lifting. Needs to be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

* Responsible for housekeeping in the area.

* Perform other tasks assigned by Shift Coating Manager and or Leadership Team.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED and manufacturing background preferred.

Other Skills and Abilities:

* Good oral communication skills and works well in a fast-passed team environment.

* Self-motivated and interested in learning multiple operations within shift/department in the future.

* Good quality aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
