ROLE
Assists Machine Operator II in the operation and set up of coating equipment to produce high quality products on schedule.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Reviews work orders, product specifications and special instructions to ensure thorough understanding of production requirements. Asks for clarification if needed
  • Assists in loading and set up of machines in accordance with instructions
  • Follows specifications to mix chemical/adhesive solution specified in work order, and safely pumps solution into machine
  • Monitors production process closely in order to quickly identify any quality issues. Stops production run immediately if problems are detected, and alerts Team Lead and/or Production Manager
  • The ability to identify defects
  • Knows how to operate the Faustel competently. Assists in operating additional machines as needed
  • Follows all instructions given by Team Lead and/or Production Manager and asks questions when necessary
  • Identifies all finished products with accurate part number, work order number, lot number, and any other information required to effectively identify the product
  • Identifies equipment problems and informs maintenance and/or Team Lead.
  • Makes suggestions to improve quality, efficiency, safety, or communication
  • Verifies that the final product produced meets quality standards and product specifications
  • Follows all safety practices and immediately corrects or reports unsafe conditions. Maintains a clean and orderly work area
  • Performs other duties as assigned by department supervisor

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Entry level position

SKILLS
  • Ability to read all product specifications, understand verbal work instructions, and accurately and neatly record required data.
  • Ability to propel and control the movement of heavy chemical vats (100s of lbs) on wheeled pallets across warehouse and production floor and up and down slight ramps.
  • Must be able to push, pull, or make other movements to convey large multi-ton rolls of material from warehouse shelves, onto fork lift, and into correct position on machine. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs of weight
