Bolton & Menk has a great opportunity for a Coatings Specialist to join our Twin Cities Metro team! We are looking to add a Coatings Specialist who will be responsible for observing and reporting the technical aspects of a coating project and its conformance or deviation from the project specifications in the field while also assisting field engineering activities as needed.
What You Will Be Doing:
  • Perform basic coating inspections on elevated and ground level water storage tanks, water/wastewater plants or other projects consisting of coating rehabilitation/installation, and assist Senior Coatings Specialists and Project Engineers with:
    • Monitor surface preparation and coating application activities daily.
    • Prepare inspection reports and inspection data for projects.
    • Maintain detailed records and documentation of inspection activities.
    • Inspecting project sites and evaluating contractor work to ensure conformance to design specifications.
    • Inspect telecom installation/removal projects.
  • Assists with engineering field operations as directed.
    • Records quantities and progress of construction activities.
    • Performs material testing procedures and records results.
  • Serves as resident project representative for routine construction projects.
  • Travels frequently to multiple work sites and other project related locations.

What We Are Looking For:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification as an AMPP Basic Coatings Inspector [CIP Level 1].
  • Ability to climb heights over 100 feet.
  • Good interpersonal written & verbal communication skills.
  • Good time management, organizational skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Thorough knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite. [MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint]
  • Ability to work weekends as needed.
  • Understands and complies with company safety manual.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation as travel to various facilities and job sites may be required.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.

Salary Range: $62,000 - $95,000 depending on years of experience and credentials
