Job description

About Us

We are a high-volume, well-established pet grooming salon serving clients from across the Phoenix metro area and beyond. Our reputation brings in loyal, repeat clients from throughout the Valley, and we regularly see clients who travel from California to have their dogs groomed with us.

We stay busy because our clients trust our work. Our team succeeds because expectations are clear, standards are high, and professionalism matters. We are more than a haircut-focused salon. We place a strong emphasis on skin and coat health, wellness, and proper care, and we offer a wide range of skin and wellness treatments tailored to each dog’s needs. Our approach combines aesthetics with health, comfort, and long-term coat condition.

Why Work With Us

  • Fully booked schedules with consistent demand
  • Loyal, respectful clients who tip well
  • Positive, team-oriented salon environment
  • Clean, organized, professional workspace
  • Clear expectations and accountability
  • Opportunity for long-term stability

Perks

  • 50% commission plus tips
  • Employee discount on retail products
  • Ability to wash your own dog at the salon
  • Open to full-time and part-time schedules

Position Responsibilities

  • Perform full-service grooming for dogs of all sizes and breeds, including baths, haircuts, trims, nail care, ear cleaning, and gland expression.
  • Evaluate each dog’s skin, coat, and overall health before grooming and apply appropriate skin and wellness treatments as needed.
  • Communicate with clients about their pet’s grooming needs, wellness concerns, and treatment options, maintaining a professional and compassionate approach.
  • Ensure safety and comfort of all pets throughout grooming, using proper restraint, handling, and techniques for nervous, aggressive, or sensitive dogs.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary workstations, including grooming tables, tubs, tools, and surrounding areas.
  • Participate in shared end-of-day cleaning responsibilities and ensure all grooming equipment is sanitized and ready for the next day.
  • Follow salon standards, protocols, and safety guidelines, including handling difficult situations calmly and professionally.
  • Assist team members as needed to manage workflow and maintain consistent scheduling, ensuring clients receive quality service on time.
  • Maintain accurate client notes and grooming records, including skin or coat conditions, behavioral observations, and product or treatment usage.

Requirements

  • 1 year of pet grooming experience required
  • Must provide your own grooming tools
  • Strong time management and ability to work independently
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced salon environment
  • Sound judgment and the ability to remain calm under pressure with both dogs and clients
  • Professional demeanor at all times, even in challenging situations

Employment Terms

  • All new hires are subject to a 90-day probationary period.
  • During this period, performance, attendance, professionalism, and adherence to salon standards will be evaluated.
  • Employment remains at-will, and either party may terminate employment at any time during or after the probationary period, with or without cause or notice, in accordance with Arizona law.
  • Successful completion of the probationary period confirms continued employment but does not alter the at-will nature of the position.
