Job description

BASIC FUNCTION:

Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, performs a variety of skilled painting, patching, and repair to walls, floors, ceilings, windows, doors, and trim of buildings as well as finishing and refinishing of furniture.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.         Reliable, prompt attendance.

2.         Performs a variety of tasks of a semi-skilled nature requiring the manual use of tools and some mechanical aptitude.

3.         Maintain the physical appearance of the buildings inside and out by patching and painting.

4.         Repairing of furniture and refinishing of dressers, chairs, tables, and equipment.

5.         Will be on weekend/after-hours coverage as needed and/or as assigned.

6.         Perform painting duties as assigned by supervisor.

7.         In compliance with Milestone Inc.’s philosophy and policies regarding Human Rights, immediately intervene on behalf of the individual(s) served and reports to the appropriate agency (OIG, DCFS, IDPH) and/or supervisor.

8.         Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.         High School Diploma or GED

2.         Minimum age of 18 years old

3.         Two years’ experience in painting buildings, commercial and residential

4.         Able to work independently after receiving oral/written directions

5.         Must have a valid driver’s license/good driving record when specified

6.         No weight restrictions
