What is a CO2 extraction?

A CO2 Extraction job involves operating specialized equipment to extract essential oils, cannabinoids, or other compounds from plant material using supercritical carbon dioxide. Technicians monitor pressure, temperature, and flow rates to ensure efficient and safe extraction. This method is widely used in industries like cannabis, pharmaceuticals, and food production because it produces high-purity extracts without harmful solvents. Responsibilities may also include equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and adhering to safety regulations.

What does a CO2 extraction specialist do?

A typical day in a CO2 Extraction role involves operating and monitoring extraction equipment, recording detailed batch information, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality protocols. You may also perform routine equipment maintenance, assist with cleaning and preparing raw materials, and collaborate with quality assurance or laboratory teams to meet product specifications. The work environment is often fast-paced and team-oriented, requiring continual attention to detail and adherence to industry regulations. This hands-on role provides valuable experience in laboratory operations and can serve as a stepping stone to more advanced roles in extraction management or product development.

What skills and qualifications are needed for CO2 extraction?

To excel in CO2 Extraction, candidates should possess strong knowledge of extraction science, lab safety protocols, and precise attention to detail, typically supported by a background in chemistry, biology, or related fields. Familiarity with supercritical CO2 extraction equipment, vacuum ovens, filtration systems, and relevant safety certifications (such as OSHA or lab safety training) is essential. Standout candidates demonstrate effective problem-solving, teamwork, and clear communication skills to ensure smooth daily operations. These competencies are critical for maintaining high product quality, adhering to strict safety standards, and meeting production goals in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.

Job description

About Our Company:

Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, Cologix is a leading North America network-neutral interconnection and hyperscale edge data center company. Our platform gives customers access to 45+ digital edge and Scalelogix hyperscale edge data centers in 13 markets across the United States and Canada along with a carrier-dense ecosystem of 710+ networks, 360+ cloud providers, 35+ onramps and seven Internet exchanges. We provide our nearly 2,000 customers with direct access to our local operations teams, resulting in strong partnerships enabled by exceptional operational support and unparalleled customer service. Backed by one of the largest North American infrastructure funds, Cologix's experienced leadership team, certified staff and commitment to ESG initiatives help form a culture that values our people, our environment and our clients.

About the Position:

We are seeking a DCIM Analyst to support the DCIM team in improving the accuracy, completeness, and usability of power and asset data across Cologix's data center portfolio. This hands-on, junior-level role combines data analysis, field validation, and operational support. The analyst will reconcile physical power circuit inventories, NetSuite power circuit records, DCIM branch circuit monitoring devices, and telemetry/metering data to maintain a reliable source of truth for power provisioning, monitoring, and billing.

A primary focus will be the Power Circuit Audit and Correction program, using SQL, ETL/data transformation, structured audit files, and system exports to identify and resolve record discrepancies and align usage telemetry to the correct physical and customer circuits. The role will also support Cologix's asset identification program by maintaining labeling standards, operating a Cologix-owned 100W CO2 laser to produce lamacoid signage for cabinets and critical infrastructure, and helping administer the internal label request and fulfillment process. Regular travel to Cologix data center sites will be required.

What You'll Do:
  • Maintain and reconcile physical power circuit audit/inventory data, aligning each physical circuit to the appropriate NetSuite power circuit record, customer/service order information, cabinet or space ID, DCIM/branch circuit monitoring (BCM) device, and telemetry source.
  • Use SQL and ETL/data-transformation techniques to extract, normalize, compare, and validate power circuit, provisioning, and telemetry datasets; create exception reports that identify records requiring investigation or correction.
  • Investigate missing, duplicate, excess, stale, or incorrectly provisioned power records and unmapped usage data; coordinate corrections with Operations, NetSuite/Development, Billing/Revenue Assurance, Customer Experience, IT, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare and validate standardized bulk-upload/provisioning files for power circuit additions, changes, and disconnects, and support recurring data-quality scripts, metrics, and alerts that identify when source systems no longer align.
  • Support on-site physical power circuit audits and validation activities with Operations and qualified electrical personnel, maintaining a living source of truth and accurate telemetry mappings for billing, overage workflows, utilization monitoring, capacity visibility, and critical-infrastructure alarms.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise asset-labeling standards, templates, naming conventions, and production documentation for cabinets and critical infrastructure.
  • Operate a 100W CO2 laser and associated software to produce lamacoid asset signage, including job setup, variable-data/CSV merges, material preparation, quality control, routine cleaning, troubleshooting, and safe equipment operation.
  • Help design, administer, and improve the internal label request workflow for Operations, including intake, prioritization, production tracking, material planning, quality control, fulfillment, and opportunities for automation.
  • Document repeatable procedures and collaborate across technical and business teams to continuously improve power-data accuracy, asset identification, and process efficiency.
What makes you a good fit: (Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Foundational to intermediate SQL skills, including the ability to work with joins, filters, aggregations, and structured relational data.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience organizing, cleaning, reconciling, and validating large or complex datasets.
  • Working knowledge of ETL/data-transformation concepts and the ability to move data accurately between spreadsheets, databases, and enterprise-system exports/imports.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to trace discrepancies back to their source.
  • Ability to learn data center electrical and power-circuit terminology and work safely in active data center, warehouse, and technical environments while following site procedures.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating with technical and business teams.
  • Reliable and organized, with the ability and willingness to travel regularly to Cologix data center sites for audits, data validation, and program implementation.
Nice to have qualifications:
  • Experience with Python (including pandas), Power BI, R, or similar analytics and reporting tools.
  • Exposure to NetSuite, DCIM, EPMS, branch circuit monitoring, metering/telemetry platforms, or other enterprise asset and facilities systems.
  • Familiarity with data center power distribution concepts such as UPS systems, panels/PDPMs, busways, voltage, amperage, breakers, redundancy, and cabinet-level power monitoring.
  • Experience with revenue assurance, billing reconciliation, service-order data, or other work where record accuracy has a direct financial impact.
  • Experience with LightBurn, CO2 laser/engraving equipment, lamacoid/Rowmark materials, CNC/signage production, scripting, process automation, structured data imports, APIs, or Git/GitHub.

***Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or transfer sponsorship of an employment visa at this time, including CPT/OPT.***
