Job description

Do you believe great baking starts with great ingredients? Are you passionate about scratch baking, local and organic foods, and creating products that bring joy to your community? Do you get excited about developing talented teams, sharing your expertise, and helping a bakery program reach its full potential?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Bakery Department Manager to lead our growing bakery program within our community-owned grocery store.


What You'll Lead


Our bakery program currently includes:

  • Scratch-made pies
  • Cakes and specialty desserts
  • Cookies, bars, and sweet treats
  • Quick breads, muffins, and scones
  • Bake-off bagels
  • Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free offerings that meet the diverse needs of our community

River Valley Co-op is a local business that supports local farmers & our shared community.
With a focus on local and organic grocery items, we have fresh produce, fresh meat and seafood, cheese and dairy, fresh bread delivered daily, an in-house deli, house-made baked goods, a wide selection of bulk foods, and a large health and wellness department. Since we are owned by our customers we stock the foods customers want to buy instead of the foods manufacturers want to sell.
