Position Summary
The Industrial Engineering Co-op supports continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing processes, collecting data, and assisting with projects that improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency. This role provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing or business environment while applying engineering principles learned in the classroom.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with time studies, process mapping, and workflow analysis.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data.
  • Support continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Help identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Create and maintain standard work instructions and process documentation.
  • Assist in capacity planning, labor analysis, and production studies.
  • Support project teams with root cause analysis and problem-solving activities.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for management.

Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with data analysis tools is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and engineering software.
  • Previous internship, co-op, or manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
