Classroom Instructor & Course Developer – with a Data Engineering background Fort Eisenhower, Augusta, GA
Active Secret Clearance Required @Orchard has been engaged to support a growing Federal Contractor with an immediate need for an Instructor able to deliver training programs on Data Engineering for the US Army, onsite in Fort Eisenhower, near Augusta, GA. This is a hands-on teaching position with course development and delivery responsibilities, working in a team of 4 professionals. All materials are delivered in-person through classroom teaching, this is onsite, not remote or hybrid. An active or interim Secret Clearance is required to start. As the Instructor you will; * Leverage your experience with the principles and practical adoption of data engineering to deliver classroom education to support ongoing professional development. * Develop training material, assist with training material validation, implement training material as certified classroom instruction, and maintain training material to support Signal School courses. * Develop data science, zero-trust cybersecurity methodologies, and development-related training support packages through lesson plans, presentations, and practical exercises to support courses, IAW ADDIE process (TP 350-70-1). Write lesson plans for training support material. * Align training material with course design and learning outcomes as specified in the Program of Instruction (POI), course map, and associated Terminal Learning Objectives (TLO) for each course. * Participate in validating learning products and material to help Training Developers determine if products meet intended learning outcomes efficiently and effectively. Make recommendations and adjustments to enhance the quality and relevancy of learning products and material. * Develop assessments (labs, quizzes, and tests) to evaluate student’s ability to understand training material and meet the intended learning outcome. * Maintain and update data science, zero-trust cybersecurity methodologies, and development-related training support packages in the form of lesson plans, presentations, and practical exercises to support courses as required by industry developments and updates in best business practices. * Use training material from academic agreements with Cisco, Microsoft, and AWS when applicable, permissible, and specified in the course design outline. * Administer tests and student assessments. * Instruct various field-related courses and evaluate student performances using the approved Instructional methodology. * Record all tests, assessments, and student evaluations in associated LMS; report academic concerns to Course Manager, SGL, ACE, and/or Chain of Command as warranted, maintaining good order and discipline in the training environment. As the Instructor your background will include
Education/Certification * A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM subject, Master’s degree preferred. * Hold at least one of the following certifications; AWS Big Data-Specialty, MS Azure Data Engineer (Associate), or CompTIA Data+ * Either hold a current Common Faculty Developer-Instructor Course (CFD-IC) certification or be willing to obtain within 90 days of starting. Experience * A minimum of 3 years’ operational experience working within Data Engineering/Data Management. * Demonstrated experience designing and delivering Data Engineering and Data Management classes within a classroom setting. * Experience and familiarity with developing classroom-ready training materials, utilizing Learning Management Systems, and administering tests and exams to assess competency.
