Job description

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Software Engineering Co-op to join our Engineering team. In this role, you will support the development of the cloud platform that powers our battery management systems and energy storage products.

You will work on both front-end and back-end development while collaborating with engineers across hardware and software teams. This is a great opportunity for a student who wants to gain hands-on experience building scalable software systems for real-world energy infrastructure.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop front-end web interfaces for the battery management system (BMS) cloud portal
  • Contribute to backend API development and system architecture
  • Design and implement database schemas to support platform functionality
  • Help integrate energy storage hardware with cloud services and IoT infrastructure
  • Develop unit tests and integration tests to ensure system reliability and stability
  • Maintain high standards of code quality, documentation, and reusability
  • Support development of the IoT platform for remote battery monitoring and control
  • Assist with software testing, debugging, and performance improvements
  • Collaborate with engineers across hardware and software teams to support product development

The Student we're looking for:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Strong preference for students with Design Team or previous co-op experience
  • Experience with modern web development frameworks and tools
  • Familiarity with backend development and API design
  • Basic understanding of databases and data modeling
  • Interest in cloud platforms, IoT systems, and connected hardware
