Job description

Job Title: OR Registered Nurse
Reports to: Nurse Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary: CNY Fertility is a renowned fertility center offering advanced treatments like IVF, IUI, and egg freezing. With a patient-centered approach and cutting-edge technology, we support individuals and couples on their journey to parenthood. Our Registered Nurse Performs patient-specific duties in the area of fertility including patient care, teaching, triage, procedures, and PACU recovery, in an operating room setting under the direction of the physician by performing the following duties.
Required Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Administers medications and follows medication protocols.
  2. Starts, maintains, and discontinues IV lines.
  3. Triages patient problems, questions, and concerns to the appropriate area.
  4. Communicates, reviews, records all laboratory results.
  5. Maintains factual and thorough health care records.
  6. Prepares patients for procedures outlined below.
  7. Assists in patient procedures, oocyte retrievals, cyst aspirations, dilatation and curettage, laparoscopic and hysteroscopy surgeries, epididymal aspirations, HSG, and selective catheterization.
  8. Monitors recovery for post-op patients.
  9. Participates in staff development, nursing conferences, infectious disease classes, and continuing education pertaining to area of expertise.
  10. This position may also be responsible for performing other duties assigned, consistent with the role and operational needs of the organization.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year of technical training. Must be a graduate of an approved registered nursing program. Critical care, Labor and Delivery, OR, or PACU experience required.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:
  • Medical Terminology
  • Demonstrate proficiency in injections
  • Demonstrate proficiency in venipunctures
  • Demonstrate proficiency in administering oral medications
  • Time management skills
  • PACU recovery experience required
Certificates and Licenses:
  • Active State Registered Nurse License
  • CPR/BLS
  • ACLS
