Job Summary:
Research Innovations Inc. (RII) is redefining defense technology, seeking a committed CNO Developer to join their Cyber security team. The role involves solving challenging problems for Defense and Homeland Security customers through the development of advanced software capabilities.
Responsibilities:
โข Build offense-grade software that operates in denied, constrained, and adversarial environments
โข Design, implement, and debug custom CNO capabilities across userland, kernel, and network layers
โข Tear down, modernize, and re-engineer legacy and acquired tooling for performance, stealth, and maintainability
โข Develop software that runs where defenders donโt want it (Windows, Linux/Unix, embedded, mobile, and network devices)
โข Perform deep binary analysis and reverse engineering across architectures and calling conventions
โข Own and evolve reproducible build systems, toolchains, and test harnesses
โข Work close to the metal: compilers, loaders, memory, execution flow, and runtime behavior
โข Travel as determined by the customer
Qualifications:
Required:
โข Active US Top Secret security clearance
โข Ability to upgrade to TS/SCI Special Access Program access
โข Significant experience programming in C and Python
โข Direct experience developing CNO or exploit capabilities
โข Embedded or firmware development experience on resource-constrained systems
โข Experience developing in one (1) or more of the following: Windows applications using Visual Studio or .NET environments, UNIX applications using make files or comparable build environments
โข Familiarity with software version control tools (e.g., Git, Subversion, or CVS)
โข Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline concepts and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, or Bamboo)
โข Experience using software debugging/troubleshooting tools and techniques
โข Software Analysis/Reverse Engineering experience
โข Comfort writing assembly or mixed C/ASM when the problem demands it
โข Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to effectively interact with customers
Preferred:
โข Mentored and coached other engineers or fulfilled the role of Tech Lead
โข Experience working across OSI layers, including packet-level analysis and manipulation
