Freedom is seeking an experienced CNG Technician to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on CNG compression equipment and related systems. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience with natural gas compression systems, and the ability to work safely and independently. This role includes customer interaction, participation in an on-call rotation, and travel as required.
Roles and Responsibilities
β€’ Perform preventative maintenance on compressors and CNG equipment, including oil and filter changes and monitoring pressure and temperature readings.
β€’ Perform scheduled maintenance in accordance with OEM recommendations, including oil changes and the inspection or replacement of valves, packing, and other components.
β€’ Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair CNG compression equipment and related systems.
β€’ Respond to emergency and after-hours service calls as required.
β€’ Complete daily service documentation and reports accurately and on time.
β€’ Work independently in the field with minimal supervision.
β€’ Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers.
β€’ Primary On-call Technician for all Colorado sites
β€’ Travel, as required, to support customer and operational needs.
β€’ Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience and Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR).
  • Compressor maintenance experience and knowledge of natural gas compression systems.
  • Experience working with high-pressure gas systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting emergency shutdown (ESD) systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting low-voltage electrical systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow OEM and O&M manuals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a safety-focused approach to work.
  • Proficiency with computers and electronic service documentation systems.
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to after-hours service calls.
  • Ability to travel as required.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience with air or gas dehydration systems.
  • Experience with control systems.
  • Construction or related field experience.
  • Additional experience servicing CNG/RNG fueling or compression equipment.
