Job description

Snelling is looking for multiple CNC Machinist’s for a fabrication and machining company in the Calera, AL area! Looking for someone who will become a part of a team that prides themselves on delivering quality products and services with every project they complete! 1st & 2nd shifts open!

CNC Machinist Description
This role will be responsible for setting up large parts, G code programming, machining and working with our systems to produce Quality parts. The Shop is primarily a cast iron, steel and stainless alloy shop. They have a variety of horizontal and vertical boring bars, a gantry and lathes.

Responsibilities for CNC Machinist:
  • Blueprint reading, understanding symbols and interpreting complex drawings
  • Setting up either castings or fabrications
  • Creating and modifying G-Code and operation of CNC equipment and manual machines
  • CAM programming preferred
  • CNC Machining of complex and high precision parts in metal and plastic
  • Part quality and inspection
  • Demonstrate quality craftsmanship, with a desire to produce the best quality components possible
  • Responsible for fluid level maintenance of the assigned machine while he/she is working on that machine.
Qualifications needed for CNC Machinist:
  • Experience with CNC programming (Fanuc (primary), Fagor and Miltronics).
  • Experience machining fabrications and castings.
  • Experience in Job Shop or rapid prototyping environment.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand on your feet for eight to ten hours.
Pay Ranges for CNC Machinist:
  • JR CNC MACHINIST - at least 1–2-year experience, $20-23/hr
  • Mid-level- CNC Machinist - 3-5 years’ experience, $23-26/hr
  • SR CNC Machinist - 5+ years’ experience, $26-30/hr
