What You'll Do

We're looking for a Toolmaker who thrives in a hands-on environment, enjoys variety in their day, and wants to contribute directly to product innovation to join our R&D team at our Innovation Center in Rosemount. The Toolmaker looks at a sketch, visualizes the finished part, and knows exactly how to bring the product to life.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Interpret Specifications: Study sketches, models, and descriptions to determine materials, machining approach, and sequence of operations.
  • Plan & Build Tooling: Compute dimensions, plan layouts, determine assembly methods, and build tooling to spec within scheduled timelines.
  • Operate CNC & Manual Machines: Run lathes, CNC mills, grinders, cutting tables, and other shop equipment with precision.
  • Verify & Improve Designs: Check dimensions, alignment, and clearances; recommend des
  • modifications based on function and manufacturability
  • Repair, Modify & Prototype: Fabricate prototypes, construct fixtures, sharpen tools, and machine closetolerance parts.
  • Maintain Equipment: Perform routine maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Collaborate & Communicate: Work closely with the Prototype Shop Manager and use Wrike to track timelines and updates.

 

What We're Looking For

This position requires a High school Diploma or GED plus a minimum of 2-5 years of experience setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines.

Other qualifications include:

  • Knowledge of MasterCam and SolidWorks
  • Ability to resolve day-to-day issues by working effectively with others
  • Basic computer skills including competence in using Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to receive, understand, and follow all written and oral instructions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

A reasonable estimate of the pay range is $32-38 per hour at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and/or training. Please note that the range details reflect the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program.
