Job description

Do you love machining? We're looking for a CNC machinist who takes real pride in their craft. At WALCO Tool & Engineering, we build high-precision components - and if you enjoy hands-on work, you will fit right in.
What You'll Do as a CNC Machinist:
  • Set up and operate CNC Vertical Mill machining centers
  • Load parts, cycle machine and detect malfunctions in operations
  • Perform highly diversified and complex contour milling, drilling, boring, and tapping
  • Interpret blueprints to produce high quality parts
  • Maintain tight tolerances
  • Inspect work to verify conformance of finished product
  • Perform minor machine maintenance such as maintaining coolants

What We're Looking for in a CNC Machinist:
  • 2+ years of CNC vertical mill setup and operation
  • Solid blueprint reading skills
  • Ability to follow written work instructions
  • Working knowledge of G & M codes
  • Experience with materials such as steel, aluminum, cast iron and alloys
  • High attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
  • Ability to physically lift/push/pull objects up to 40 lbs.
  • Standard measuring tools required

Compensation and schedule:
  • $22-30 per hour, based on experience with opportunities for overtime
  • Second shift or overlapping shift
  • Second shift employees receive a 10% shift differential on top of base pay
  • Flexible scheduling in 24/7 operation
  • Second shift employees have the option to choose between five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts per week, depending on availability
