CNC Set Up Technicians are skilled professionals responsible for preparing, configuring, and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines used in manufacturing. They read blueprints, select tools, set machine parameters, and ensure that equipment is calibrated for specific production runs. Their work enables CNC machines to operate accurately and efficiently, producing parts and components to precise specifications. In addition to setup, they may troubleshoot issues, perform routine maintenance, and support production teams with technical expertise.

How does a CNC set up technician typically collaborate with machinists and engineers during the production process?

As a CNC Set Up Technician, you work closely with machinists and engineers to ensure that machines are correctly configured for each job. You'll often review technical drawings with engineers to clarify specifications, and then coordinate with machinists to validate that the setup meets quality and safety standards. Effective communication is crucial, as you'll need to address any issues or adjustments promptly to maintain productivity and minimize downtime. This collaborative environment helps ensure that production runs smoothly and that products meet client requirements.
