What Does a CNC Router Operator Do?
A CNC router operator uses a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) router to cut various materials, like metal, plastic, and wood. Your duties as a CNC router operator are to arrange machine setup properly before beginning work, read blueprints as instructions for cutting, and operate the machine safely. Your responsibilities may also include attending safety and educational training meetings; cleaning, maintaining, and performing routine inspections on the router; and training apprentices how to use the equipment properly. Job description
What You'll Do:
- Role: You will be responsible for loading and unloading parts onto the burn table, adjusting the table settings, loading and unloading the cutting torch, and monitoring the cutting process.
- Production Task Execution: Follow process sheets, blueprints, or verbal instructions from the supervisor to complete production tasks accurately.
- Material Handling: Maneuver large or heavy parts manually or with the assistance of a crane or forklift as required.
- Inspection & Finishing: Inspect cuts throughout the process for quality, using grinding tools as necessary to achieve desired finishes.
- Machine & Workspace Maintenance: Keep machines and work areas clean and adhere to safety protocols.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished work to ensure it meets predetermined tolerances and standards.
- Cross-Functional Support: Assist in other areas or departments as assigned to meet production needs.
What You'll Bring:
- Burn Table Experience: Prior experience using burn table to cut materials ¾" to 8-1/2" in within a manufacturing environment or equivalent technical schooling is required.
- Additional Welding Skills: Experience with welding is a plus.
- Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with grinding tools, drill presses, and ironwork is advantageous.
- Communication & Documentation: Basic oral communication skills; ability to read and understand written instructions in English and complete basic logs and reports in English.
- Physical Capability: Physically able to lift, push, pull, and position heavy components as required.
- Attendance & Compliance: Ability to work scheduled hours and adhere to company timekeeping and all other policies.
- Shift Endurance: Ability to consistently stand for the entire duration of the shift in a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Mechanical Knowledge: General mechanical knowledge is beneficial.
- Team Orientation: Able to work cooperatively with others and contribute as a team player.
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrates accuracy and reliability in all tasks.
Your Schedule:
- 2nd Shift - Monday - Friday 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
