What does a CNC Programmer Production Manager do?

A CNC Programmer Production Manager oversees the programming and operation of computer numerical control (CNC) machines in a manufacturing environment. They are responsible for creating and optimizing CNC programs, managing production schedules, ensuring quality standards, and supervising a team of CNC operators and programmers. This role combines technical expertise in CNC machining with leadership and organizational skills to maximize efficiency and productivity. Additionally, they often coordinate with other departments to meet production goals and troubleshoot any issues that arise on the shop floor.

How does a CNC Programmer Production Manager balance hands-on programming tasks with overseeing production operations?

A CNC Programmer Production Manager often divides their time between developing and optimizing CNC programs and managing day-to-day production activities. They are responsible for ensuring that machining processes run smoothly, troubleshooting technical issues, and maintaining high-quality output. This dual focus means strong organizational and communication skills are essential, as the manager must prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and continuously monitor workflow efficiency.
