Job Title: CNC Operator

Job Description

The CNC Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machinery to produce high-quality metal components that meet project specifications and industry standards. The role involves working on custom projects for a variety of clients, often including trailers and cabs.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and work instructions to determine machining requirements.
• Load and unload materials, ensuring proper alignment and secure positioning.
• Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to maintain quality and accuracy.
• Perform routine inspections using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Conduct basic machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and tool changes.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report major malfunctions to supervisors.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies.
• Collaborate with welders, fabricators, and engineers to ensure project requirements are met.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of CNC operation experience with plasma table, laser, or press brake.
• Experience with programming and adjustments.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading.
• Skill in using measuring tools like calipers and micrometers.
• Experience in troubleshooting, daily calibrations, and machine setup.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working on custom projects.
• Any CNC machine operation experience is an asset.
• Experience with TRUMPF equipment.
• Ability to work without cat allergies due to cats in the front office.

Work Environment

The position is based in a custom shop environment, located south of Calgary. Recently, a new extension was added to the building to accommodate new machinery like the plasma cutter. The work environment includes a few cats roaming the front office. The available shifts are Monday-Wednesday 6AM-6PM or Thursday-Saturday 6AM-6PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Calgary, AB.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Calgary,AB.
