Job description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
  • Set-up and operate CNC Turret press, editing of programs, tooling maintenance, assist in the training of operators and the use of associated computer equipment. Produce good quality parts in a timely manner. Perform preventive maintenance of CNC machines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Obtain and apply information from Work Instruction File.
  • Set-up and operate CNC and computer by following machine setup sheets.
  • Test and inspect equipment.
  • Test and inspect product to blueprint specifications.
  • Inspect product for compliance to requirements and sign-off for first piece approval.
  • Utilizes and completes documentation requirements.
  • Understand and follow policy procedures.
  • Prepare product for transfer to next work cell.
  • Shut down and store computer and equipment.
  • Document and record all work done in work cell.
  • Perform preventative maintenance of CNC machines.
  • Train others in respective work cell to assure good quality parts are being produced in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure general maintenance and upkeep of equipment.
  • Comply with ISO policies and procedures.

OCCASIONAL DUTIES:
  • Operation of associated metal fabrication machinery: surface grinder, press brakes, surface graining, and edge deburring machines.
  • Once employee demonstrates competency in position, he/she may be required to train others in similar roles.

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION:
  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • One to three years experience in metal fabrication.

SKILLS:
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Team oriented.
