As a CNC Machinist at RAM, youโ€™ll bring your expertise to a high-precision, high-impact environment where quality and craftsmanship matter. This is a hands-on, second-shift role (Mondayโ€“Thursday, with Fridays off!) ideal for experienced machinists with 3+ years of CNC machining experience. Youโ€™ll set up and operate a variety of CNC machines to produce complex aerospace components to exact specifications, applying your knowledge of mechanics, shop math, metal properties, and machining processes. This is not an entry-level position. It's an opportunity to grow your career in a fast-paced, advanced manufacturing setting. Qualified candidates may be eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus and tooling reimbursement after the introductory period.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes and milling machines.
  • Measure and examine completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools to perform precision machining operations.
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and materials onto machines.
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
  • Follow prepared instructions outlining methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products.
  • Select the appropriate tools and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.
  • Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs.
  • Perform minor preventive maintenance.
  • Position and fasten workpieces.
  • Program computers such as numerically controlled machine tools.
  • Set controls to regulate machining.
  • Confer with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.
  • Confer with numerical control programmers to check and ensure that new programs will function properly, and that output will meet specifications.
  • Recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency and adaptability to setup and production.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of applicable work experience is required
  • Work experience using Mazak or Citizen machines is preferred
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check and drug screening.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Prefer 1 year Certificate in Machining Proficiency
  • Must be 18 years old
