The Dixon Group is looking for a CNC Operator I to join our team in Houston, TX! In this role, you will be responsible for preparing CNC machinery for new production runs, which includes installing and measuring tools, as well as locating and securing jaws to the chuck. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to proactively recognize machining issues, and the expertise to make critical adjustments. What You'll Do:

  • Accurately set up, prepare, and operate CNC machines for daily production runs.
  • Monitor machinery during operations to recognize machining issues, troubleshoot program errors, and make necessary adjustments to ensure product quality.
  • Perform routine daily maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
  • Actively assist, train, and share knowledge with other employees to foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Maintain flexibility with daily assignments and seamlessly adapt to changing production needs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work safely around all equipment and co-workers, strictly adhering to all company and OSHA safety guidelines.

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC machines.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret technical blueprints.
  • Proficiency in reading and utilizing precision measuring devices, including scales, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent verbal communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Proven working knowledge of G-code programming is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience with Mazatrol machinery.
  • Ability to stand for the full duration of the scheduled shift and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
