Job description

CNC Machinist - Tool Grinding

Location: KYOCERA SGS Precision Tools - Finishing Department
Schedule: Monday-Friday | Second Shift (3:00 PM-11:00 PM) or Third Shift (11:00 PM-7:00 AM)

Training: New hires will complete initial training on First Shift (7:00 AM-3:00 PM) before transitioning to their assigned shift
Pay Range: $24.61 - $30.64 per hour (based on experience and skill level)
Shift Differential: $1.00 per hour (applies to both shifts)

Now Hiring CNC Machinists - Precision Tool Grinding

KYOCERA SGS Precision Tools is hiring an experienced CNC Machinist to join our Precision Tool Grinding team. In this role, you'll set up and operate Walter and Rollomatic CNC grinding machines to manufacture world-class precision cutting tools used by customers across a wide range of industries.

Candidates with CNC setup and tool grinding experience in a manufacturing environment are encouraged to apply.

Placement and pay are based on experience, technical skills, and demonstrated ability.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate Walter and Rollomatic CNC grinding machines

Interpret blueprints, routings, and manufacturing specifications

Perform CNC setup adjustments and troubleshooting as needed

Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring tools

Maintain machine settings including feeds, speeds, and routine maintenance

Select, dress, and maintain diamond grinding wheels

Ensure product quality meets all specifications

Complete production documentation accurately

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized manufacturing environment

What You Bring & Requirements

High school diploma or GED required

2 years of CNC machining, CNC setup, or tool grinding experience preferred

Ability to perform independent CNC setups and troubleshooting

Blueprint reading and manufacturing specification interpretation

Experience using precision measuring tools (micrometers, indicators, etc.)

Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

Ability to work in a fast-paced CNC manufacturing environment

Ability to read, write, and communicate in English

Ability to work mandatory overtime when scheduled

Work Environment

Continuous standing, walking, and hands-on machine operation required

Manufacturing environment with moderate to loud noise levels

Exposure to oils, grinding fluids, and sharp cutting tools

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed

Must meet all safety and training requirements
