As our company continues to thrive and grow, we are now seeking Haven/CNC Machine Operators for 1st and 2nd Shift for ourPhillips Tube Group, Inc. - Richmond Indianalocation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The responsibilities listed are fundamental to the position and must be performed successfully to achieve the key performance objectives of the role. Other responsibilities may be assigned.

  • Know and follow safety requirements for shop and for this area including required guarding and personal protective equipment.
  • Set up each job on the machines. Read and understand the Cut Routing paperwork including tolerances, quality requirements and packaging requirements. Enter set-up information using computer interface. Change blades and tooling for specific jobs.
  • Run each job on the machines. Load mill length bundles. Handle, inspect, measure and pack finished parts. Adjust machine to meet quality requirements and top production rates. Know adjustments, settings and parameters for specific jobs. Move carts, boxes, containers and bundles as needed.
  • Follow production schedules. Complete paperwork including production reports, down-time reports, quality inspections and time sheets.
  • Meet quality requirements for each job. Perform initial five-piece inspection. Perform two-piece inspections every half hour. Increase inspection frequencies as needed with machine adjustments or incoming part issues.
  • Complete PPAP's when required.
  • Clean machine, worktables and floors. Keep work area orderly and organized. Order and put away supplies and blades.
  • Communicate with supervisors, packers, shipping and utility personnel, coworkers from other shifts as well as customers, vendors and other visitors.
  • Perform basic routine maintenance and troubleshooting. Keep the tube path (straps, rails, rollers, tooling) free of chips and debris. Top off fluids and grease. Replace pads on tooling. Replace easy broken and worn parts such as brushes, belts and airlines. Know when to call maintenance personnel because necessary work is beyond your capability.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Machine Operating experience with Havens and / or CNC's required.
  • Team player
  • Great attendance record
  • Citizen of the United States of America
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • 2-3 years' work experience in a manufacturing company preferably with steel required
