What is a CNC machine maintenance technician?

CNC machine maintenance technicians are skilled professionals responsible for inspecting, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing computer numerical control (CNC) machines used in manufacturing. They ensure that machines operate efficiently by performing regular maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and replacing worn or damaged components. Their work helps prevent costly breakdowns and ensures high-quality production output. These technicians may also update software, calibrate equipment, and maintain detailed service records.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a CNC machine maintenance technician?

To thrive as a CNC Machine Maintenance Technician, you need solid mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, knowledge of CNC machinery, and typically a technical diploma or relevant certification. Familiarity with diagnostic tools, PLC programming, and maintenance management systems is commonly required.
