PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to support a world-renowned innovator in power generation and energy technology at its Bangor, Maine facility. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in manufacturing some of the world's most advanced energy solutions while working with cutting-edge machining technologies, large-scale components, and highly skilled engineering teams.

Location: Onsite | Bangor, Maine
Schedule: 1st Shift | Flexible Start Times (7:00 AM - 9:00 AM)
Pay Rate: $62.04 per hour

What You'll Do
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam, Siemens NX, Esprit 2000, and related programming platforms.

  • Create and support CNC programs for multi-axis milling, turning, and grinding operations.

  • Verify and validate new CNC programs using VERICUT before production release.

  • Troubleshoot CNC programming and machining issues while providing daily support to shop floor operators.

  • Program and optimize advanced machine controls, including:

    • Fanuc Controls

    • Siemens Controls

    • Okuma Controls

    • Macro-based programming routines

    • Renishaw probing systems

  • Support Manufacturing Engineers with machine startups, process improvements, and operator training.

  • Develop workstation instructions, standard operating procedures, and CNC-related documentation.

  • Establish tooling requirements, fixture strategies, tooling consumption rates, and inventory standards.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, cost reduction, and delivery performance.

  • Drive manufacturing process optimization for large-scale precision components weighing up to 50,000 lbs.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally within a dynamic, matrixed manufacturing environment.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution OR High School Diploma/GED with at least 2 years of manufacturing or operations experience.

  • Minimum of 2 additional years of manufacturing or operations experience.

  • Hands-on CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency with:

    • Mastercam

    • VERICUT

  • Experience creating and optimizing CNC programs for advanced machining operations.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with:

    • Siemens NX

    • Esprit 2000

    • Inventor

    • NX or other 3D modeling software

  • Experience programming and supporting:

    • Fanuc CNC Controls

    • Okuma Controls

    • Siemens Sinumerik ONE

    • Haas Controls

  • Minimum one year of experience with:

    • Fanuc Macro B programming

    • Renishaw probing routines

    • Variable-based programming

    • Closed Loop Machining (CLM)

    • Advanced machine tool controls and sub-routines

  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Lean Manufacturing experience.
