Dynamic Gravity Systems | Broomfield, CO

About Us Dynamic Gravity Systems specializes in precision engineering, focusing on the design and manufacture of gravity meters used on ships, aircraft, and land for geophysical survey companies and scientific research organizations. Based in Broomfield, Colorado, we pride ourselves on our commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and exceptional customer service.

We are a tight-knit team of about a half-dozen employees, meaning everyone takes on multiple roles and has a direct impact on our success. We foster a team-oriented culture that encourages professional growth, continuous learning, and the development of cutting-edge technologies.

The Opportunity We are seeking a highly skilled and independent Level 3 CNC Machinist and Programmer to take complete ownership of our machine shop. In this full-time, on-site role, you will be responsible for everything from writing programs and setting up machines to performing basic maintenance and ordering materials. Because this is a senior-level position on a small team, little to no on-the-job training will be available—we need an expert who can hit the ground running, work independently with minimal supervision, and uphold our high standards for accuracy.

Schedule

What You Will Do

  • Shop Management: Manage all daily operations of the machine shop, including programming, setup, machining, cleaning, basic maintenance, material/tool ordering, and shop safety.
  • Precision Machining: Produce prototype and short-run parts using a CNC mill and manual lathe with a relentless focus on accuracy and repeatability.
  • Tolerances & Materials: Machine highly precise components, primarily out of 6061 Aluminum and typically under 1 inch in size, holding standard tolerances of ±.005” and common tolerances of ±.001”.
  • Process Control: Carefully control speed, feed, depth of cut, fixture rigidity, tooling selection, and material stresses to create the best possible parts.
  • Fixturing: Design and build your own setup fixtures, or effectively communicate fixturing requirements to our engineering team.

What You Need (Qualifications)

  • Experience: 3+ years of professional work experience with Computer Numerical Control (CNC).
  • Core Skills: Proven ability to program and operate CNC mills completely independently. Formal or informal machinist training is required.
  • Technical Literacy: Strong ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics, with a solid understanding of GD&T.
  • Quality Control: Strict attention to detail with experience in QC processes and ensuring adherence to precise specifications.
  • Maintenance: A solid understanding of industrial CNC equipment and routine machinery maintenance.
  • Software: Experience with CAD/CAM software (such as Fusion 360, Mastercam, Solidworks CAM, etc.) is a strong plus.

Join Us! If you are a master of your craft who enjoys the autonomy of running a shop and the challenge of creating high-precision parts for cutting-edge technology, apply to join Dynamic Gravity Systems today!
