Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled CNC Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC laser cutting equipment to produce precise components according to drawings, specifications, and production requirements.

The CNC Laser Operator will primarily operate the Dynamacline Fiber® 4G 2040 20kW Laser 2D Fiber system (Model 4G 2040 20kW). This role requires a strong understanding of CNC laser cutting, fabrication processes, blueprint reading, material handling, and quality inspection to ensure the highest standards of production. The operator will play a critical role in producing high-quality parts safely, accurately, and efficiently within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate the Dynamacline Fiber® 4G 2040 20kW CNC fiber laser cutting system.
  • Verify machine settings, material type, material thickness, and job requirements prior to production.
  • Load and position sheet metal and other materials onto the laser cutting system.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, cut files, and specifications to determine proper machine settings and production requirements.
  • Select and verify appropriate laser cutting parameters based on material type and thickness.
  • Monitor the laser cutting process and make adjustments as necessary to maintain cut quality and production efficiency.
  • Inspect finished parts to verify dimensions, tolerances, edge quality, and overall workmanship.
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and other inspection tools as required.
  • Identify and troubleshoot basic machine, cutting, and material issues and communicate more complex problems to appropriate personnel.
  • Perform routine operator-level maintenance, cleaning, and inspections of the laser cutting system.
  • Monitor machine consumables and tooling and notify appropriate personnel when replacement or service is required.
  • Utilize hand tools and other fabrication equipment as needed to complete production requirements.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records as required.
  • Follow all safety protocols related to laser equipment, sheet metal handling, material handling equipment, and other manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to all company safety standards.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment or similar industrial laser cutting machinery.
  • Experience operating the Dynamacline Fiber® 4G 2040 20kW Laser 2D Fiber systemor similar CNC fiber laser equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely operate and monitor laser cutting equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints, technical drawings, dimensions, and specifications.
  • Basic understanding of laser cutting processes, material types, and material thicknesses.
  • Ability to perform basic measurements using tools such as calipers and measuring tapes.
  • Basic math skills necessary to understand dimensions, measurements, and material requirements.
  • Ability to identify common cutting or machine issues and communicate problems to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
  • Ability to follow established safety procedures, production instructions, and quality requirements.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining consistent production and quality standards.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience operating the Dynamacline Fiber® 4G 2040 20kW Laser 2D Fiber systemor similar CNC fiber laser equipment.
  • Experience with CNC programming and laser cutting software.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and CNC-generated cutting programs.
  • Experience interpreting GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  • Experience using precision inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other measuring instruments.
  • Experience with sheet metal fabrication, tooling setup, and material handling.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience performing routine maintenance, cleaning, and adjustments on CNC laser equipment.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with established production and quality goals.

Physical Requirements

  • Must pass a pre-employment screening.
  • Ability to wear all required PPE for the position.
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout an 8–10 hour shift.
  • Ability to work indoors or outdoors in year-round weather, including rain.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. routinely and up to 75 lbs. occasionally while utilizing all proper lifting procedures and practices.
  • Frequent stooping, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
