CNC Lathe Programmer
Plymouth, MI Full Time First Shift $28-$35 per Hour
We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Programmer to join a precision manufacturing team in Plymouth, Michigan.
This role is ideal for a skilled machinist who enjoys programming, setup, troubleshooting, and running their own parts from start to finish. You will play an important role in producing high-quality components while working with modern CNC turning equipment in a team-focused manufacturing environment.
What You'll Do
Programming & Process Development
  • Create, edit, and optimize CNC lathe programs using G-code and CAM software such as Esprit or Fusion 360
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T requirements
  • Improve existing programs to increase efficiency, reduce cycle times, and improve machining processes
CNC Setup & Operation
  • Perform complete CNC lathe setups including tooling, offsets, and workholding
  • Operate CNC lathes including Mazak, DMG Mori, and Doosan equipment
  • Monitor machining operations and make adjustments to maintain quality and consistency
  • Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, materials, and machine performance
Quality & Documentation
  • Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and precision measuring equipment
  • Ensure parts meet required specifications and tolerances
  • Maintain setup sheets, tooling documentation, and production records
Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams
  • Provide technical support and share machining knowledge with other team members
