Job description

Responsibilities

  • Program and operate one or more fabricating machines to perform operations such as drilling, reaming, tapping, countersinking, punching, and other machining tasks within documented abilities.

  • Read and execute job specifications accurately.

  • Perform minor adjustments to machines as needed.

  • Inspect completed work and rework piece part defects when required.

Inspection and Finishing

  • Deburr parts to meet quality and inspection requirements.

  • Sand parts as needed to meet specified quality standards.

  • Wash parts according to job specifications.

Documentation and Recordkeeping

  • Complete job-related recordkeeping, including:

    • CAM file storage

    • Employee time cards

    • Machine time cards

Machine Maintenance

  • Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning and applying grease/oil to machines.

Programming and Setup

  • Program and set up standard operations for 2-, 3-, 4-, and multi-axis machines.

Corrective Action

  • Initiate and participate in Corrective Action Reports (CARs), including:

    • Identifying errors and areas for improvement

    • Participating in continuous improvement activities

    • Approving CAR closures

    • Following defined procedures for corrective actions and nonconforming product handling

Material Preparation

  • Prepare stock material for jobs in accordance with production needs.

Workplace Organization (5S Activities)

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in immediate and support work areas (e.g., saws, non-CNC machines).

Training Responsibilities

  • Serve as a ‘Master’ trainer in areas identified by the Training Matrix, providing support and mentorship to other team members.
