Job description

Department: 3S Telemetry
Daily Work Times: 7p-7:30a
Shift: Nights
Scheduled Bi-Weekly Hours: 72

Position Summary: 
Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, contributes to the delivery of patient-centered care through: Performance of selected day-to-day patient care activities.  Maintenance of an environment that is functionally and aesthetically conducive to patient well-being.  Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies.  Interacts with patients considering their developmental, age-specific, and cultural spiritual preferences. 

Responsibilities:

  1. Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
  2. Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
  3. Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising. 
  4. Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
  5. Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
  6. Performs other related job duties as requested.

Required: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Formal education or training in a medical careers program OR enrollment in nursing school OR two or more years' experience in a Patient Care Associate/Nurse Assistant role
  • BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent, is required before start date and valid at least 60 days beyond start date

Preferred:  

  • State Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Basic EMT Certification
  • LPN License
