What does a clinic CNA do?

Clinic certified nursing assistants (CNAs) provide a variety of health care and nursing services to patients in health care facilities. In this role, you review directions from the facility's physician or lead nurse, take vital signs, bring food to or feed patients, reposition bedridden patients, report any health issues you observe, and answer calls. As a clinical CNA, you may interact with patients who have more severe health issues than CNAs in other types of health care facilities. You work closely with your patients' physicians and other health care professionals to ensure the patients receive the care they need.

Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and standard clinical equipment such as blood pressure monitors is important. Strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and the ability to remain calm under pressure help you excel in this patient-facing role. These capabilities are crucial for ensuring efficient clinic operations and delivering compassionate patient care in a fast-paced environment.
